Super Studio were engaged to design a brand identity for City-Bay Fun Run, with the flexibility to incorporate a 50 years badge, to be removed from branding in subsequent years. Additional specifications included the need to integrate named sponsor logos harmoniously within a number of applications across the logo and website.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic ‘diagonal’ route traversing Anzac Highway, an oblique configuration was applied to a simple, slanting typeface, positioned simply and cleanly alongside a triptych curved line symbol that allowed flexible reconfiguration across different brand applications and merchandise. A distinctive visual identity, complemented by a crisp, succinct brand positioning statement: ‘Fifty years and running’.

The logo draws inspiration from the route alignment.

The logo works with a sub-system for the different route lengths, as well as an alternate 73-24 sub-brand for the 50 year anniversary.

This project was shortlisted in the Brand Identity (small boutique) category at the Adelaide Advertising Design Club Awards 2024.
